Visit Kinsmen Park (seasonal) with a picnic lunch. Enjoy the rides, cool off in the splash pool, and play in the creative playground (younger children). For indoor fun, try the Children’s Discovery Museum on the Saskatchewan (younger children); for the older children, challenge them to a little paintball at Merrill Dunes Adventure.
Velocity Raceway at Wilson’s Entertainment Park will test your driving skills. Challenge the kids to a game of mini-golf on their natural grass course or practice that swing on the driving range before heading out for a round of golf at one of Saskatoon’s challenging courses.
Puzzle your way for an afternoon through The Maze (seasonal), a 12 - acre corn maze on Valley Road, or spend the afternoon at Saskatoon’s newest edition to family fun the water play feature at River Landing.

The Trails of 1885
Follow the highway to Batoche National Historic Site. Once the centre of Métis settlement in Saskatchewan; Batoche served as the last battlefield in the Northwest Resistance of 1885. From Batoche, retrace you route back to Highway 11 and continue north to the Town of Duck Lake, the centre of an area of great importance in 1885 history.
The Duck Lake Interpretive Centre is located just off Highway 11 and features artifacts pertaining to the 1885 Métis Resistance. From atop of the 80 foot tower, view the surrounding area in all directions.
From Duck Lake, go west on Highway 212 to Fort Carlton Provincial Park and step back in time to the original site of a Hudson’s Bay fur trading post that operated between 1810 and 1885. Visit the reconstructed palisade, provisions store, clerk’s quarter and tipi encampment. Interpreters guide visitors through these areas; campground and picnic area on site.

Fort Battleford established by the North West Mounted Police at the junction of the Battle and North Saskatchewan rivers, is an area rich in Indian and fur trade history. The Fort, constructed in 1876 played an important role in the settlement of the West. Today, you can tour original buildings and view artifacts depicting the life of the Mounties back then and the pivotal role they played in the settlement of the west.
Step back in time and experience the story of Saskatchewan's agricultural and rural life at the Western Development Museum - Heritage Farm and Village. This 100 acre outdoor site features a village with more than 30 homes and businesses representing the boom years of the 1920's. An original Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator built in 1928 and the 1913 railway station serve as reminders of early farm and grain marketing stories.
